🧬 Procedure Overview

LIPO-STEM DUO™ involves harvesting a small volume of your own fat tissue using a sterile, closed-loop system. This tissue is then processed and reinjected into a site of orthopaedic injury or degeneration. The procedure is typically performed in an outpatient or clinic setting under local anaesthetic.

As with any medical procedure involving injection or tissue harvest, the following risks may occur:

• Temporary bruising, redness, discomfort, or swelling at the injection or harvest site

• Nausea, dizziness, or light-headedness

• Mild pain or tenderness in treated areas

• Infection, haematoma or seroma (fluid accumulation)

• Changes in skin sensation

• Rare complications such as allergic reactions to local anaesthetic, blood clots, or tissue calcification

• In extremely rare cases, fat embolism or serious complications including injury to blood vessels or nerves

 

Patients with underlying chronic illnesses (e.g., autoimmune disorders, diabetes, circulatory issues, or obesity) may require additional screening and precautionary care. These considerations should be discussed in full with your physician.

While many patients experience improved function and reduced pain, outcomes are not guaranteed. The effectiveness of LIPO-STEM DUO™ can vary depending on the degree of joint damage, your overall health, and how well you follow your post-procedure care plan.
